Overview

The iMOTION™ IMD110 is a series of highly integrated ICs for the control of three-phase motors. The devices integrate the motor controller with a high-voltage three-phase gate driver and a voltage regulator. We offer the driver as a ready-to-use solution for motor and (optional) PFC control with an integrated scripting engine granting flexibility for a wide range of applications.

IMD110 drivers are an optimal combination of a ready-to-use motor controller with an SOI gate driver. The devices can be combined with almost any low- to high-voltage MOSFET or IGBT to create a compact drive solution. The full set of protection features, improved clearance and creepage make the IMD110 a highly robust and reliable driver family. The family takes advantage of the latest generation of our field-proven Motion Control Engine (MCE), implementing Field Oriented Control (FOC) and using space vector PWM to achieve the highest energy efficiency. The MCE integrates multiple protection features like overvoltage and undervoltage, overcurrent, rotor lock, etc.

All IMD110 devices support the functional safety requirements according to IEC/UL 60730 (Class B).

The iMOTION™ Integrated Motor Driver (IMD) family incorporates key features such as:

  • Single or leg shunt current measurement
  • Motor control algorithm (sensorless/Hall-based FOC)
  • Optional control for boost and totem-pole PFC
  • Dead time insertion
  • Shoot-through prevention
