About

Infineon’s IR116XXS synchronous rectification (SR) controller family for SMPS meets the 2016 standards set forth by the U.S. DoE and EU CoC demanding higher efficiency from external power supplies. Together with Infineon’s best-in-class OptiMOS™ and StrongIRFET™, IR116XXS products provide a simple way to drive the MOSFETs and therefore improve efficiency by 1 to 3% depending on output loads.

IR116XXS are smart secondary side driver ICs designed to drive N-Channel power MOSFETs used as synchronous rectifiers in isolated flyback and resonant half-bridge converters. The IC can control one or more  paralleled N-MOSFETs to emulate the behavior of Schottky diode rectifiers.

The Infineon IR116XXS synchronous rectification ICs support SMPS topologies up to 200 V, which is common in many consumer and industrial applications such as SMPS in servers, UPS, AC-DC adapters, LCD TVs, and telecom SMPS products.
