About

HiRel products, unlike commercial ones, must undergo quality conformance inspection (QCI) testing at various levels to ensure product performance to specifications.

In the United States, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is the controlling agency and has issued specifications that govern the quality conformance testing sequence performed on semiconductor devices and hybrid modules.

MIL-PRF-19500/MIL-STD-750 are the controlling specifications for discrete semiconductors such as diodes and power MOSFETs. MIL-PRF-19500 directs discrete semiconductors to be manufactured to either JAN, JANTX, JANTXV, or JANS levels.

Infineon's IR HiRel-branded ultrafast rectifiers are screened to MIL-PRF-19500 equivalent.

Infineon’s rad hard power electronics are used throughout satellite bus platforms and payloads to improve size, efficiency, and power density of space power systems. Certified to ESA and DLA standards, Infineon’s rad hard power management and power conversion portfolio is recognized globally for its excellent performance, reliability, longevity, and world-class design heritage. Our design, operations, and quality systems exceed military standards. Infineon offers semiconductor-based products specifically designed for space applications where commercial electronics cannot meet the requirements.

Infineon has a long history of serving the space industry. We understand the engineering and manufacturing requirements and challenges of designing for reliable performance in the extreme thermal, mechanical, and radiation environments of space. For decades, customers have relied on our rad hard power solutions in thousands of mission-critical space, aerospace, and national security programs. Many of these spacecraft are still in flight today.
